Milford Track Souvenir picture


It has been the third day since the Centrair airport(Chubu International Airport) in Japan was left. The morning sun of Queenstown shines on the peak of the silvery white of the Southern Alps. and, the mountain shadow is cast on the lake side. The time of the departure came finally. The participant comes "THE STATION" walking from each hotel. AM 9:30. The name tag is gotten from the guide, and all members put it on the chest. The greeting was exchanged, and AM 9:45 buses left aiming at "The Finest Walk in the World".

The smile in an international bus is full. The first meeting enjoys talking. It is a fantastic scenery.

Arrival commemoration(R)
They are 13 Japanese team people and 2 local guide people when Glade Wharf arrives. These 13 people are tour guide with the participant whom CHUNICHI TOUR recruited.



Glade House
We arrived at once when we advanced in the track while hearing small bird's music.

The right is USA team and the left is me.



Nature walk (L)
The backpack is put on the room when arriving at the grade house. It divided into two team (English and Japanese) and it went to the nature walk of about one hour.
We minutely learn the vegetation of the virgin forest in Milford from Hiro of the guide. The jungle of a beechen virgin forest and ferns covered with the moss there.

Sprout of Ferns (R) It was a symbol of NZ, and a root of the symbol of All Blacks and Air New Zealand.



Nature walk (L)
The leading part of Rainforest of NZ is Beech Trees. It is small, and the leaf of Beech Trees of NZ doesn't turn red in autumn, and be called an evergreen.

With Mr. Paul(R)
I had a happy supper while introducing myself with Mr.Paul. He participated from AUST by single. His hobby is a jog. It seems to run four times of the half marathon and the full length marathon once every year. He is a computer analyst of 56 years. The wife is a doctor, and the hobby shops in the department store.



Self introduction
It introduces oneself to classification by countries after the supper, and the song of the each country boast is announced.

From Aust to 14 person participation of most. Next, 13 people (All members are appearance, and the picture is none) Japan announces mountaineer's song.

They are the same participation of four people as NZ.




Fu Fu (Blowing) game (L)
When the table tennis ball is dropped to the other party of blowing each other side, it scores. Japan vs. Aust war is 2 : 0 and a defeat of Japan.
Mlford Track Development History Room (R)
The history of Milford Track started in 1877, and the origin of a present route was acknowledged in 1888.




Bedroom
There are such four person room, twin, and three kinds of lodge staying of The Queen of the double bed. I was four person room. It was two of Japanese Mr. E and me.

Turning off All room power supply stops in PM 10:00. Therefore, the LED lamp was necessary for the action thereafter.
